Eyecare for the Whole Family

family-eyecare.jpg

Children do not know whether they see “well” or not, they only know what they see. We feel that it is of the utmost importance to bring your little one in for an eye examination annually. Each year a child grows and develops his/her eyes will also grow and change. It is true that our children’s visual demand is much higher than ours ever was. Our children are using tablets and computers at a much younger age and have more homework and book work at an earlier age. This stresses an already delicate visual system and can lead to focusing issues, headaches, and tracking issues. All of these concerns are evaluated during an eye examination in our office. Just because your child can see 20/20 does not mean they are fully equipped to get through a full day of school. If your child does need glasses, you will appreciate our selection of childrens frames. From Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, to Hello Kitty, and everything in between, we have the glasses your child will wear. Our staff is trained to be sure the frame fits your active child properly. Sunglass Selection

Sunglasses do so much for our vision, as well as the health of the eyes. Did you know that the effects of ultraviolet radiation (UVR) in the eye are cumulative? Signs and symptoms of UVR damage often are delayed by years and even decades. The major effect that UVR has on the eye is the cause of cataracts, but it also can cause wrinkles, droopy eyelids, and even skin cancer. So what should you look for when shopping for a pair of sunglasses? The best type of sunglass lens is a polarized lens. Only polarized lenses block both reflected and scattered light from hitting your eyes. All of the glare you experience from reflected sunlight off of car windshields and water surfaces will be diverted away from your eye with polarized lenses. This not only protects your eyes, but also provides optimal vision. We offer one of the largest selections of sunglasses in the area. Come in and see which sunglass is right for you.
